Dr. Sandy Thompson, PhD
As a licensed clinical psychologist trained at Columbia University, I bring over a decade of expertise to offer personalized therapy grounded in scientific research. My goal is to help you explore and effectively navigate the challenges you’re facing in your work, family, and relationships. Together, we'll gain insight into your thinking and behavior patterns and work toward observable change that is meaningful to you.
Embarking on therapy can be daunting, but I'm here to assure you that change is possible. We'll work at a pace that's comfortable for you, helping you overcome obstacles and start living a life that's aligned with your values and goals.
My Approach
I offer a warm, collaborative, and direct style that blends non-judgmental understanding with proactive change. Together, we'll equip you with practical skills to manage symptoms effectively, providing relief as we work toward the life changes you seek. Importantly, I will help you understand your experiences with self-compassion. We will build on your strengths, and I will support you in trying and practicing new, more adaptive ways of experiencing and engaging in your life that align with your personal values and goals.
Through this process you will see and feel the change you desire
